It’s curious that the “Obama is running the country” nonsense seems to have died down. I heard it a lot during Biden’s candidacy—he couldn’t be doing it, so it must be that Black guy who wasn’t born here. I mean, I heard it a lot. People would tell me as if God whispered it in their ear, and they were sharing with me a deep, mysterious truth.
Where did they get this? Did they get it from the New York Times? The Wall Street Journal? The Washington Post? Because I know for a fact that they did not.
As the Roman philosopher Cicero said over two thousand years ago: “Mystery is the wisdom of blockheads.”
The president works in the West Wing. Do you know what is also located in the West Wing? The offices of the White House press corps. So, if Obama was regularly hanging out in the Oval Office—even for twenty minutes—don’t you think someone would have noticed? The correct answer is yes. They would have.
But, like I said, the blockheads have apparently moved on.
