It’s not a great time for street artists. Shepard Fairey, whose work I am a longtime admirer of, just released his Kamala poster. It’s done in the vein of the Obama “Hope” poster. And I have to say, I don’t love it. It doesn’t even look like her! [sigh]
And don’t even get me started on Banksy. Israel has laid waste to Gaza, has killed 40,000 people, with volunteer surgeons reporting that Israeli snipers are using school kids for target practice—two close shots in the torso—and Banksy is doing zoo animals all over London?? He has done nothing on Gaza since last October. Though yes, he has done stuff in Palestine in the past, much to his credit. But, has he seen a newspaper?? Zoo animals??
