Nice opinion piece in the Guardian reviewing the recent history of “conservative” attempts to smear Harris and others. The familiar tactics that have come to be expected from Republicans are sexism, racism, homophobia, etc.
If you’re a billionaire and you take a dim view of brown, female, or LGBTQ people, then yes, the GOP is your team. But if you work for a living and don’t despise people who aren’t like you, and you’re voting Republican, then I am bewildered by your motivations.
You’re not voting for the party of Eisenhower, Nixon, or even Reagan, because it does not exist. It’s been replaced by a thing that I’m hesitant to call a political party.
