Keeping the Home Fires Burning

They finally released me. Though elated to get home, leaving Shirley Ryan Ability Lab is always a bitter-sweet experience. One forms connections with the staff—nurses, PCTs, therapists both physical and occupational—and I always mist up while leaving.

That said, I’m home now. I made the galactically stupid decision to get my flu shot on the last day there. I should have gotten it day one. You see, vaccinations and MS do not pair well. So, for the last couple days I’ve been rubbish. Principally, bad leg weakness. But, now it’s time to hit the physical therapy hard; the pump is working as it should and it’s been titrated correctly. The rest is up to me.

Blah, blah. I lit this candle that Kate bought me months ago, and I felt it made for a nice photograph. The skull’s name is Miles, and as you can see, he smiled nicely for the camera. I have another skull named Sigerson. And I have a ceramic phrenology head named Nigel. I’m never lonely.

They can’t release new seasons of Only Murders in the Building and Slow Horses soon enough. I shouldn’t have to wait like this. [sigh]

That Complete Works of Shakespeare is a seventh edition Bevington, in case you were wondering.
