I know polls are not crystal balls, but this is looking promising. Harris has climbed considerably from where Biden was, and has improved her numbers in the swing states. If past is prologue, there’s no reason to think that the Harris-Walz campaign will not continue to improve its standing.
It’s like Trump has become a clown whom folks are finding less and less funny. Yes, those who view him as a messiah are legion and will not budge; they will follow him straight into hell. But undecided and independent voters seem to be tiring of his act. Does he even talk about policy? He seems to only traffic in racist and misogynistic insults, and incoherent (and embarrassing) talk of Hannibal Lecter and sharks.
According to the Independent on Tuesday:
“Republicans are concerned that their party leader Donald Trump is having a ‘public nervous breakdown’ after he made a series of offensive outbursts about Vice President Kamala Harris as he slips behind her in the polls.”
The nervous-breakdown line comes from Matthew Bartlett, a Republican strategist and former Trump State Department appointee as he relayed it to Politico.
Bartlett: “This is a guy who cut through the Republican primary like a knife through butter. This is a guy who pummeled a semi-conscious president in a debate and literally out of a race. And now this is a guy who cannot come to grips with a competitive presidential race that would require discipline and effective messaging … And we’re seeing a candidate and a campaign absolutely meltdown.”
