Before class, some students and I were discussing popular music. I cannot recall the context, but I made the comment that “rock-n-roll has become the domain of middle-aged men in faded, ill-fitting blue jeans playing “Ballroom Blitz” and desperately clinging to their youth.
A student asked, “What’s ‘Ballroom Blitz’”?
So, she punched it up on YouTube and began listening.
Student: “Ooh, I like this! Wait, is this rock-n-roll??”
Me: “Um … yes.”
