Amidst their coverage of the recent survived hanging in Iran, the BBC reposted this piece from April 2013 on the death penalty.
I try to post good news once in a while, and the death penalty's global downward trend is certainly that. Though, there was this sentence: "The five countries carrying out most executions remain China, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the US."
In my Oct. 16 blog post I remarked that "what was done to that country [Iraq] will always be a mark of disgrace on American history." Sharing Baghdad's company in the above list indicates another.
