Friend Michael Slager recently did a nice piece on some repulsive comments made by the illustrious RFK. Michael’s essay featured a picture of an Arab woman. It all welled up in me.
So, this brief blog post is simply me saying how much I respect and appreciate Arab culture. I loved my time spent in Arab countries. I love your food, your friendliness, your hospitality, your humor—I just like being in your company.
You put up with so very many insults from my culture. (Yours is civilized; mine is not.) And I am sorry. Some of us do appreciate you. Some of us love you. Please know we are out there.
