Paradise

Holy cripes, this series is intense. It’s basically a murder mystery, something of a spy thriller, with a sci-fi thing that operates in the background. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a sci-fi series—at all. It’s just the context in which the story unfolds is sci-fi. And the context is interesting and in no way dumbs down what is happening.

The cast and acting are tight. And the direction—and writing—will keep you glued for eight episodes. Thank god it’s been renewed for a second season, because there is much to explore and plenty of loose ends need tying up.
