Trump and Disablities

Now that the primaries and Super Tuesday have clarified what was already clear—that Americans prefer clowns over competence—I thought I would repost this image for anyone maybe on the fence.

I have also added a link below. It’s a NYT piece about how Donald Trump ridiculed people with disabilities yet again by taking a jab at Biden over stuttering.

This was a pattern already. The former president has ridiculed people with disabilities, voiced disgust over veterans in wheelchairs, and now has insulted people with stammers. If you support this man, you’re supporting this behavior. This is okay with you. You share the moral failings of your high priest.

I don’t get the feeling that any of this affects the devoted—it doesn’t, the polling data does not budge. His supporters have decided he’s a folk hero, a prophet, and a deity. He can do no wrong.

When this is all over, when the fever breaks, when the country has the clarity that (hopefully) comes with time (I’m not hopeful, we still get WWII, Vietnam, and the Middle East wrong), the embarrassment is going to be overwhelming.
