BBC Radio interview

I was invited on BBC Radio's 5 Live program again for their Saturday morning news roundup.

The segment is short and focuses mainly on the then alleged capture of an Israeli soldier in Gaza. It was later confirmed by Israel that the lieutenant was killed action.

The media response to the presumed capture was unsurprising, as it was merely a reflection of the emphasis placed on the issue by Israel and the White House. In addition to being unsurprising, the condemnation was also consistent with the disproportionality that has come to define the conflict.

The Global Firepower website ranks Israel as the eleventh strongest military power in the world. Gaza has been described by the Christian Science Monitor as "the most foreign-aid dependent society on earth." This is the actual proportion.
