Latest major climate study conducted by Oregon State University and Harvard University. The results are, at this point, sadly predictable and unsurprising.
Even if human contributions to climate change were determined to be nonexistent, there is no logical reason to delay in moving toward cleaner energy. But in the light of the increasing and alarming evidence, what would be a good idea anyway is now a vital course of action.
The ecosystem is just that: a system. As any grade school student learns in science class, if you alter any of the variables in a system, you change the system. Over the last century, we have altered a number of variables through deforestation, carbon dioxide emissions, and so on. As a result, the system has been changed. Decreasing and/or rolling back the alteration makes obvious sense.
The room for legitimate debate on this subject seems to be zero.
