On Friday (June 8), the Guardian did a full day of coverage in Gaza, producing a sizable collection of blogs, interviews, photography, and articles examining daily life in what has been described as the world's largest open-air prison.
Gazans live in isolation behind total Israeli control of the strip's coastline, land borders, and airspace. The territory remains occupied, but from without instead of from within. The situation there has been in place (in its current form) since 2007, but the territory's woes stretch back much farther. Moreover, the situation is in place on account of total US authorization.
